Hideawy Home Office

In our previous blogpost, we discussed design considerations for a dedicated home office for clients who have an extra room to spare.

However, in space limited Singapore, judicious space planning may be in order for the best work from home experience. While the dining table can easily double up as a temporary workplace, especially if the work equipment is a mobile laptop, a modest hideaway work area may be a worthwhile investment for a more optimal WFH arrangement.

In this Waterfall Gardens 4BR condominium, the client wanted his home office to be in the heart of the home. On a typical work day, he has access to a large monitor with stable hardwired ethernet connection. Our interior designers devised a novel solution to hide away the work area on entertainment evenings, By sliding over a wood panel, a glamorous home entertainment bar is revealed, instantaneously transforming a work ready space into a party space. A rather painless process with minimal housekeeping is involved.

While this setup is perfect for this client, a work area in a bustling part of the home is less appropriate for clients who need to be on extensive Zoom calls.
